Graphic Designer - Training+Internship - Armenia

FreeDOM Development is looking for talents and offers to teach interns everything to satisfy IT companies requirements and to be able to perform all the responsibilities. This time we are starting a Graphic designer training+internship program and everyone who is enthusiastic about the field and has little knowledge about it is welcome to apply.

The Graphic designer intern will work closely with the Product Manager and the Senior Development team to develop overall layouts and designs for the products of the company.

Training/Internship program details: 

• The training/internship program, as well as the further work, will be fully Remote.
• We request a minimum commitment of 35-40 weekly hours availability for the training+internship program.
• Scheduling is flexible and could include a variety of weekdays as well as weekends if the candidate prefers.
• The duration of the program is ~ 4-5 months (3 months free training + 2 months paid internship/probation) during which participants will get minimum theoretical and practical knowledge about the field which is required to start their working career as a Graphic designer.
• Please note that the duration of the program also mostly depends on the temp, dedication, and progress of the participant.
• After successfully completing the training/internship program the participant will be offered a part-time job in the company and continue his/her training parallel with the job. 

Requirements:

• Creative way of thinking and ability to come up with new and creative ideas relevant to the company’s vision, project, or product
• Understanding the fundamentals of UX/UI design and Material Design
• Familiarity with the designing for prints
• Understanding of different file formats and color systems, paper sizes, weights, and stocks
• Ability to select or develop the right fonts for the designs
• Having drawing skills and the ability to make sketches 
• Strategic way of thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent knowledge of the English language A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Strong communication skills for being able to communicate closely with clients, team and other stakeholders
• A Proactive approach to work
• Algorithmic thinking ability and logic
• Is a big plus: Basic knowledge of Designing tools like Figma, Photoshop, Corel, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.

• Knowledge about Linux-based OS, HTML, CSS, and other field related topics
• Practical skills in working with Designing tools
• Practical usage of the designs for prints. Eg. bleed, slug, crop, and fold mark

• Ability to use simple UI/UX techniques 
• Practical experience in developing concepts, graphics, and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites

Responsibilities after being hired:

• Discuss with our clients or engineers in discussions the new design of the product and overall strategy to understand how certain design elements will work together and how they will convey the meaning 
• Research, brainstorm, develop and communicate new ideas which will be needed for offering unique and creative solutions that will attract people’s attention
• Be able to use simple UI/UX techniques which will sometimes be needed to create visually appealing and functional designs
• Be able to use designing for print skills which requires the knowledge of bleeds, slug, crop, fold marks, ink limits, dot gains, transparency as well as the ability to do drawings by hand
• Prepare rough drafts of materials based on an agreed brief,
• design and prepare printing materials, send files to printing companies and keep in touch in case of any questions
• Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic that will coincide with companies concepts and vision
• Develop concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos and websites in a timely manner meeting the deadlines as sometimes you will need to work on multiple projects and the ability to deal with the deadlines is essential
• Use the right font for a project to typesetting, kerning, tracking and leading which helps to create meaning and transfer the right concept
• Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions which include finding out troubleshooting design issues or revising designs to meet client needs.
• Come up with creative ideas and solutions that will make the product, project and business better
• Share and review your designs based on peer feedback, user research, testing, and customer feedback.
• Collaborate with other team members, stakeholders and keep the team working spirit which is one of the main concepts of the company
• Always keep in touch with new trends and technologies
